Ward 7 London City Council Candidate
Leadership that listens. Experience that connects.
Working together for a better future.
My commitment to Ward 7 is simple and unwavering: I will help bring people together, listen to them, and build common ground for a stronger, more resilient Ward 7 and a better London.
I am proud to announce my candidacy for Ward 7 City Councillor in London’s upcoming municipal election. I am stepping forward because our community deserves leadership rooted in collaboration, compassion, and measurable results.
For years, I have worked alongside London’s neighbourhoods — serving on boards and committees in the arts, environmental and cultural stewardship, and academic organizations. My experience has always centred on listening to people, bringing them together, and helping communities turn good ideas into real, concrete action. I am ready to bring that same commitment to City Hall, representing the voices of Ward 7 and standing up for Londoners who need support so they, too, can contribute to the city we all share.
We are living in a complex global moment, one that is increasingly difficult to navigate at the provincial and federal levels. Here at home, London faces visible and urgent challenges: homelessness, unemployment, affordability pressures, and climate instability. These issues are real — and they demand unity, not polarization.
About Me

The two careers to which I have dedicated most of my life are education and journalism. I have been a college professor at Fanshawe College in the School of Arts and Language for more than two decades. I am also the Regional Vice-Chair for Canada of the Commission for Freedom of Speech and Liberty of the Press, of the Inter-American Press Association (IAPA), an organization made up of more than 1,300 print, television, radio and digital media, press associations, service providers and individuals throughout the Americas.
Aside from education and journalism, I also worked in the financial sector for several years. This experience taught me how to balance fiscal responsibility with social needs.
I have been a Member of multiple Boards, including:
London Public Library;
Museum London;
Reforest London;
WIL Employment Connections;
London and Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership (LMLIP); and
City of London's Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee.
I am a civic leader and journalist engaging in public communication both at the local and the international level, focusing on advocacy and covering social and cultural advancement. This experience motivated me to run in two Canadian federal elections for London North Centre. I gained invaluable insights on the importance of advocacy work as part of good governance.
I have a strong record in the fields of education, inclusion, and newcomer support.
Why I Am Running

My family and I arrived in London, Ontario, where we found a warm and welcoming home. Since then, I have dedicated more than two decades to giving back to this promising city.
My passions for equality, human rights, and grass-roots efforts to raise the voices of every citizen have followed me throughout my life, which is why I know I can bring a listening ear and positive change to Ward 7 and the greater London community. My commitment to Ward 7 is to bring about action that you want to see, while maintaining a community-centred passionate approach for every resident.No city is stronger than the people it leaves behind. We rise only when the most vulnerable can rise with us.
Platform
My platform is based on my decades of community work in
London. I have been a Member of multiple Boards in the city,
and the work I want to do with the people of London is
informed by the work I have done on those Boards.I will focus on the following items:
Affordable housing initiatives
Better transit and safer roads
Local business promotion
Creating safer communities with neighbourhood planning
Finding ways to lower property taxes
Improvement of City services (e.g., parking, snow removal, clearing tree branches, etc.)
Reducing the percentage of unemployment by creating more job opportunities
Reducing the risk of homelessness through access to community services and mental health supports
Above all, I am here to listen to you. I want to hear what you have to say regarding the needs and improvements you want to see in Ward 7 and in the greater London community. At the heart of my platform is the belief that every voice should be heard, and every Londoner should be taken into account and feel well represented.
